1982-2014

Veronica Veliz, a lifelong resident of Floresville, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Houston at the age of 31 years, 3 months, and 8 days. She was born on Nov. 23, 1982, in San Antonio, Texas, to Juan Carlos Veliz and Maria Elena Ibarra.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Veronica is survived by her parents, Juan Carlos and Araceli Veliz of Floresville and Maria Elena Ibarra; her siblings, Ruth Veliz, Jannery Veliz, Luis C. Veliz, and Catarino Veliz, all of Floresville; nieces and nephews Krislyn Veliz, Damien Veliz, John Veliz, and Juan C. Veliz; numerous extended family members; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 7, at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Luis C. Veliz, Catarino Veliz, Estevan DeHoyos, Victor Menchaca, Mario Menchaca, and Lawrence Bernal.
