ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Roberto Torres passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, in Floresville at the age of 72 years and 11 days. He was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Laredo, Texas, to Enrique and Bertha Marquina Torres.

Roberto was a former resident of Michigan and a resident of Floresville for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Fernando Torres.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Diana Castillo Torres of Floresville; children Christina Castanon and husband Martin of Detroit, Mich., Bobby Torres of Waterford, Mich., and Nicholas Torres and wife Heather of San Antonio; siblings Sonia Gutierrez of Laredo, Enrique Torres and wife Irma of Pontiac, Mich., Carlos Torres of Laredo, and Hector Torres and wife Irma of San Antonio; grandchildren Austin Torres, Miranda Castanon, and Britain DziaDzio Torres; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 1, in the Oak Hills Community Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Joel Odom officiating.

Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Ottowa Park Cemetery in Clarkston, Mich.
