1928-2014

Roy “Erskine” Denson, 85, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born on Nov. 1, 1928, to M.W. “Booker” and Mary Ella (Reeves) Denson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter Brenda Mrazek and husband Rodney; sons Danny Denson and wife Tricia and Toby George and wife Dana; grandchildren Carrie Welfel, Cathie Schoenvogel, Cassie Mrazek, Colin Mrazek, Garrett Denson, Jaron Denson, Jhett George, Jude George, and JorDan George; great-grandson Wyatt Schoenvogel; aunts Lola Marie “Polly” Sewell and Hazel Mae “Tincy” Sewell; cousins; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel, officiated by Pastor Pat Traxler and the Rev. Dennis Jarzombek.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery near Stockdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stockdale EMS, Stockdale VFD, St. Mary’s Building Fund, Karnes City Fire Department, or Boysville.
