FLORESVILLE -- Police here are hoping that someone with information about two recent crimes will call Crime Stoppers of Wilson County.

According to Detective George Ortiz of the Floresville Police Department, someone during the overnight hours of Feb. 19-20 broke into an outdoor soda machine behind the DaVita dialysis center on U.S. 181. A surveillance camera at the adjacent First National Bank recorded a Hispanic male leaving the area in a gold Chevrolet Lumina sedan at around the time when the incident is believed to have occurred.

In an unrelated incident, police were called to the Bealls department store in the H-E-B shopping center on U.S. 181 at 12:08 p.m. March 5 after someone fled the store with three boxes containing Nike athletic shoes. Ortiz said the shoes had a total value of $150.

A witness reported that the suspect is a bald Hispanic male, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, who fled on Standish Street in a maroon, 4-door, imported car.

Ortiz reminds residents that Crime Stoppers tips remain completely anonymous and can yield cash rewards if they lead to an arrest or to the return of stolen property. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 830-393-INFO (4636) or http://bit.ly/NDrIut.
