ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. 1925-2014

Travis Shipp passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Humble at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 12 days. He was born on April 24, 1925, in Bullard, Texas, to Jim and Ora Clements Shipp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lola Shipp.

Travis is survived by his great-nephew, Doug Shipp of Humble; brother Tom Shipp of Houston; and nieces Martha and Michelle.

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Sil Ornelas.
