1911-2014

Victor L. Ibrom, 102, of Yorktown, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was born Sept. 6, 1911, in Yorktown to Anton and Victoria Ibrom.

Victor was a lifelong resident of Yorktown and devoted his entire life, dawn to dusk, to agriculture as a farmer and rancher. He was a man of strong will and work ethic.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; son Adrian Ibrom; son-in-law Eugene Stanush; and 10 siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 76 years, Irene Ibrom; children Al Ibrom and wife Maggie, Gladys Stanush, and Raymond Ibrom; grandchildren Joyce, Mark, Kevin, Debbie, Jason, Eric, and Aaron; great-grandchildren Kurtis, Brett, Wyatt, Garrett, Jacob, Chloe, Tim, Chris, Alyssa, Colton, Brayden, Ava Grace, Makayla, McKenzy, and Addilyn; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 5-8 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Yorktown.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown.

Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Yorktown.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Ibrom, Aaron Ibrom, Jason Ibrom, Mark Ibrom, Kevin Stanush, Doug Johnston, and Jayson Bennett.

Memorials may be made by way of Mass cards, or to the Holy Cross Building Fund.
