The Floresville City Council is set to do a second take Wednesday, March 19, following the cancellation of its March 12 meeting due to the lack of a quorum.

Ten minutes after the scheduled start of the March 12 meeting, Mayor Diana Garza informed the audience of its cancellation, as councilmen Johnny Ray Nieto and Mario Morones had not arrived. However, Steven Gonzales, executive director of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association, addressed those in attendance about the organization’s proposal to partner with the National Parks Service to connect Rancho de las Cabras to the Old Town Lodi Hike and Bike Trail.

Gonzales’ presentation is among the agenda items that are set for the March 19 meeting.

Doug Jones of the Floresville Parks Foundation Committee also addressed the audience to inform them that the Texas Comptroller’s Office has reinstated the group’s nonprofit status.

Also in attendance: Councilmen John W. Guerrero and Eric Rodriguez, City Manager Henrietta Turner, interim City Secretary Monica Cordova, Cyndi Nichols of the Floresville Permits and Code Compliance Office, Construction Manager Andrew Barrientes, Lt. Chad Clark of the Floresville Police Department, Bailiff Albert Litterio, and Attorney Chris Hugg of the Law Offices of Louis T. Rosenberg.
