The Blue Bird Café, located 3-1/2 miles south of La Vernia on U.S. 87, welcomes diners to enjoy its retro atmosphere and classic menu.

John and Estela Turner, who previously owned restaurants in Winter Park and Aurora, Colo., are joined by Jack Blanchard as operations manager. John previously managed restaurants for Denny’s and Village Inn Restaurants.

Take a blast to the past in the Blue Bird Café, with ’50s and ’60s décor and favorite oldies of the era playing in the background.

Enjoy home-style cooking served by the friendly staff.

A lunch buffet is available Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Blue Bird Café offers daily lunch specials and a salad bar, along with a full menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items.

A banquet room is available for private parties and meetings..

The Blue Bird Café is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
