Stockdale News: Lions Club BBQ cook-off

The first-ever Stockdale Lions Club BBQ Cook-off is set for Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, in the Stockdale City Park, located off S.H. 123 in Stockdale.

Friday’s activities include a Kids Pork Chop Cook-off, a Greased Pig Catch, a horseshoe tourney, and Cooker Olympics. Entertainment will be provided by Chad Anderson and Nick Wells from 7:30-11 p.m.

A co-ed six man volleyball tournament will be held both days.

Saturday’s cook-off divisions include pork ribs, brisket, chicken, beans, and salsa.

A Steve and Ramona Lambeck Memorial Scholarship Mud Run benefiting KidSight will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. Youth events include goat slapping and kickball. A washer tournament for both youth and adults will also be held.

The “Hillbilly Jug Band” will perform from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
