Stockdale News: Calling all Jubilee court contenders
The last regular meeting of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce was held on Feb. 24, in the offices of the Stockdale Economic Development Corp. Discussions centered around the upcoming 70th annual Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee.
It is not too late to register as a candidate in the Jubilee and Rodeo courts. If your son or daughter is interested in participating in the Jubilee or Rodeo courts, please contact Gennie Rangel at 830-391-3504 or Donna Skloss at 830-391-0226.
The contests for Queen Melone and Miss Rodeo Stockdale are open to incoming sophomore through senior ladies at Stockdale High School. The contests for Jubilee Princess and Rodeo Princess are open to incoming sixth-grade through ninth-grade girls.
The contests for Little Miss Stockdale, Little Mr. Stockdale, Little Miss Rodeo, and Little Mr. Rodeo are open to incoming kindergarten through fourth-grade Stockdale students. This is a fabulous way to represent the city of Stockdale and our Watermelon Jubilee, in addition to earning great prizes and scholarships.
As a reminder, if you are interested in having a food, craft, or information booth on the grounds during Jubilee weekend, visit www.stockdaletx.org for entry forms and rules. Prospective vendors may also email email@example.com for information packets and more information.
Now is the time to secure your Jubilee sponsorship slot as well. This is a great way to advertise your business during Jubilee weekend. Our 2014 sponsorship package can be found on our website as well.
This year’s Jubilee will feature a Bull Buck-Out on Thursday, June 19, along with a concert by the “Junction 541 Band.” The Jubilee’s tradition of legendary Texas country concerts will continue on Friday night with the “Josh Abbott Band” and then again on Saturday night with the “Randy Rogers Band.” We are very excited to have these performers back at the Jubilee for 2014!
The next regular meeting of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce will be held on Monday, March 31, at 7 p.m. in the offices of the Stockdale Economic Development Corp. Please plan to join us if you are interested in becoming more involved with any of our activities.
