The Children’s Hospital Trail Ride, a nonprofit organization in its 26th year of operation, will host the last of three annual events to benefit the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Foundation.

The BBQ Cook-Off will be held Saturday, March 29, at Cestohowa Hall, with registration from 8-9:30 a.m. Cookers can compete in six categories -- ribs, chicken, chili, beans, brisket, and dessert. Cost is $25 for one entry; $60 for three entries; and $125 for all six categories. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places.

An auction will also be held.

A dance will follow at 7 p.m. with music by the “Cody Riley Band.” Admission is $15.

The Children’s Hospital Trail Ride relies on the hard work of its many volunteers to put on these events that are well-known throughout South Texas. Throughout its 26-year history, the group has raised more than $816,000 to help children and families served by the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.

Watch for the results of the team-roping event in an upcoming issue of the Wilson County News.
