ADKINS -- Officials from the Texas Rangers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and deputies from both the Bexar and Wilson county sheriff’s offices are among those at the scene on Oak Park Road here, at the former residence of missing area resident Patty Inez Brightwell Vaughan.

Personnel began arriving at the scene at approximately 10 a.m. March 24 and an excavator was delivered to the location about an hour later.

Wilson County Sheriff Joe D. Tackitt Jr. said investigators are “going on some rumors” that Vaughan was murdered and buried at the property she once shared with her husband, Jerry Ray. Vaughan was reported to have last been seen Dec. 25, 1996, when her husband reported that she left home after a heated argument.

“After it happened, the place was checked out,” Tackitt said. "There was no sign of anything being disturbed.”

POFPO, I believed they used ground radar at Medina County high school, not at Oak Park Road. Do you have info that it was used at Oak Park?

POFPO....If they find remains, they have
also discovered an initial botched search.
If remains are not found, it will be a case
of wasted effort.
