1920-2014

Carlie Joe Boysen died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the age of 93 years. He was born in Hobson, Texas, on Nov. 7, 1920, to Charlie and Olga T. Boysen.

Carlie was a farmer and rancher all of his life. During World War II, Carlie served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard. Carlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drinking coffee with his friends at the cafe. He was known as “Uncle” to his nieces, nephews, and their families. He was always there with a birthday card, a smile, and a laugh and was always willing to help when needed.

Carlie’s family would like to thank all of his friends and the staff at Regency Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who visited with and cared for him these last three years.

Carlie was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lola Franklin; and brother Fabian Boysen.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Bess Boysen; his nieces, Olga Jaskinia and husband Jerry and Jodie Claes and husband Sean; nephews Gene Barnes, Ray Barnes, and Karl Boysen and wife Sara; and great-nephews and -nieces Clayton and Kelsie Jaskinia, Marlee and Harper Claes, and Hagan and Elijah Boysen.

A private ceremony will be held by the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Falls City Library, 206 N. Irving St., Falls City, TX 78113.
