1944-2014

Linda Carrol Skinner passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 13 days. She was born March 27, 1944, in Strague, W. Va., to Howard W. and Virginia Mitchell Gilkerson. She was a former resident of San Antonio and a resident of Wilson County for 33 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fred Skinner III; and five sisters and brothers.

Linda is survived by her husband, Fred Skinner Jr. of Wilson County; her children, Laura A. Parker of Floresville, Sandra L. Melton of Floresville, and Michael Skinner of Wilson County; sisters Joan Kountz and Connie Walker of Beckley, W. Va.; grandchildren Malinda, Elizabeth, and Sarah Skinner and Dax and Mason Melton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 27, at 2 p.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
