Gonzalo Contreras Perales passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 4 days. He was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Roberto and Guadalupe Contreras Perales. He was a former resident of Mexico and a resident of Floresville for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gonzalo is survived by his wife, Delmira Perales of Floresville; his children, Margarita Perales of San Antonio, Amie Martinez of San Antonio, Oswaldo Perales of Mexico, and Jose L. Perales of San Antonio; two sisters; eight brothers; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Francisco J. Briones officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Pete R. Talamantez III, John Michael Talamantez, Allen Knepper, Johnny Perez, Nikolas Talamantez, and Richard Talamantez III.
