Thelma Virginia Teltschik, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 2:42 a.m. in the Regency Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floresville, at the age of 96 years, 1 month, and 22 days. Thelma was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Floresville, the daughter of Henry and Adele Greif Teltschik.

After graduating from Floresville High School, Thelma worked as a secretary for the Federal District Attorney’s Office, retiring after many years of faithful service. Thelma was a member of First Lutheran Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Wilbert Henry Teltschik.

Thelma is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Teltschik of Floresville; her nieces and nephew, Shara Teltschik of Floresville, Jeffrey Teltschik and wife Janet of San Antonio, and Leysa Pavliska and husband James of Floresville; 12 great-nieces and -nephews; six great-great-nieces and -nephews; and friend Virgil Russell.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., officiated by Pastor John Conrad.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Bubba Davee, Leroy McWhirter, Jimmy Norwood, Brent Pavliska, Joshua Pavliska, and Chaz Pavliska.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1406 Sixth St., Floresville, TX 78114.
