FALLS CITY -- The Falls City Beaver baseball team defeated the Port Aransas Marlins 6-3 last Friday to remain undefeated in district play.

Austen Camber pitched three innings and allowed 3 runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout. Dean Gaskamp pitched one inning and faced three batters with one strikeout. Justin Twine finished the game with nine strikeouts and one walk.

The Beavers took the lead 1-0 after one inning, but gave up 3 runs in the second to the Marlins. The Beaver defense then held the Marlins scoreless for the rest of the game. The offense scored 3 runs in the fifth and 2 runs in the seventh. Jonathan Sekula and Mitch Lyssy hit doubles, and Twine ripped a triple. Gabe Jimerson had 2 RBIs, while Sekula and Mitch Lyssy each had 1 RBI. Camber and Gaskamp each had one stolen base and Twine added four more.

Earlier in the week, Falls City defeated Three Rivers, 16-3. Cody Houdmann faced 13 batters and allowed 3 runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout. Zach Jimerson faced 10 batters and allowed no runs with one walk and two strikeouts. Matthew Hons faced eight batters and allowed no runs with no walks and three strikeouts.

On offense, the Beavers had 13 RBIs with Mitch Lyssy knocking in four of them. Zach Jimerson, Gabe Jimerson, Devon Lyssy, Kolton Pollok, and Twine all hit doubles, and Mitch Lyssy hit a triple. The Beavers had 17 stolen bases in the game.

The Beavers are now 5-0 in district play and will face Runge this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Runge to finish out the first round.
