ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

The third annual “Long Live Cowboys” Special Replacement Sale is set for Saturday, March 29, at noon, in the Karnes City Auction located at 1918 S.H. 80 N. in Karnes City.

More than 300 females and 15 bulls will be available for viewing Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, and Saturday morning.

Angus, Brangus, Angus Plus, F-1 Tigerstripe, Brahma, Crossbreds, and Charolais pairs, bred cows, bred heifers, open heifers, and bulls will be up for sale.

“These cattle are gentle and definitely cube broke,” said Karnes City Livestock Auction owner/operator Josh Tielke.

Visit for pictures of some consignments or call for details or last-minute consignments.

“Calves are at an all-time high and these cows will be a great investment,” Tielke said.

The regular weekly cattle sale will be held immediately after the sale.
