Posse playday March 29
The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Posse Playday will begin its 2014 playday series Saturday, March 29, in the Posse arena located at 2215 F.M. 466 in Seguin. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Leadline classes will start at 10 a.m.
Other Saturdays dates scheduled are, April 26, May 17, and June 21.
To be eligible for the 2014 Playday Series Buckle and Tack Awards, riders must attend three out of the four playdays to be eligible for year-end awards. No playdays will be dropped. Hi-point awards will be given at each playday.
Contestants’ age will be determined as of Jan. 1. All contestants must show proof of age with either a picture ID or birth certificate.
Divisions include: leadline and peewee, 6 and under; intermediate, 7 to 10; sub-juniors, 11 to 14; juniors, 15 to 21; and seniors, 21 and older.
Events will include pole bending, cloverleaf and straight barrels, and a different mystery event each playday. Leadline classes will run a shortened pattern.
Costs for the playday events are: $5 per event and a $5 office charge per family per playday.
A horse and rider cake walk will be held between various classes. Riders may ride all day for $10 or pay $1 per run at the gate.
Negative Coggins are required at each playday.
Concession stand will be available.
