WCN to publish Candidates’ forum
The Wilson County News is offering candidates in the municipal and local issue elections May 10 an opportunity to reach voters by participating in our “Candidates’ Forum.” There is no charge for inclusion in the forum, which will be published April 23.
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 16.
This feature is offered to declared candidates facing opposition in races in which area voters will be able to cast ballots. These include:
•Municipal elections in China Grove, Elmendorf, La Vernia, and Poth
•School board elections in Falls City and Poth.
Each candidate’s submission is limited to 200 words; those in a résumé format are not acceptable.
Please respond to these questions:
•What is your personal, professional, and political background?
•Why are you running for this office?
•What do you plan to accomplish if elected?
The Wilson County News will accept only submissions that are legibly handwritten, typed, or computer-printed. Electronic submissions are preferred, but they also may be delivered in person to the newspaper offices, postal-mailed, or faxed. All must include the candidate’s signature. Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org; however, a hard copy must also be sent, bearing the candidate’s signature. Signed hard copies by fax are acceptable.
Entries will be subject to editing as needed for length, basic grammar, spelling, good taste, and libel. Please, no bashing of opponents.
A photograph may accompany each submission. Candidates may send a recent, publication-quality photograph, or they may stop by the Wilson County News offices in Floresville to have a staff member take a photo.
Deliver or send submissions to Candidates’ Forum, Wilson County News, 1012 C St., Floresville, TX 78114; or fax to 830-393-3219.
