Jimmy Escamilla Garcia passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, in Floresville at the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 4 days. He was born in Floresville, Texas, on April 24, 1949, to Mariano B. and Carmen Escamilla Garcia.

He was a 1968 graduate of Floresville High School and a 1980 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and finance. Jimmy served as a Reserve Marine and was a member of the San Antonio Fire Department from 1972-80, a safety engineer/Inspector from 1980-90, and a CPS energy risk manager from 1990-2012. He retired in 2012. He was a member of Oak Hills Community Church.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Garcia of Floresville; sons Anthony G. Garcia and wife Krista of San Antonio, Christopher Brian Garcia and wife Stephanie of Chicago, Christopher Gomez and wife Melissa of Brownwood, Jon Paul Gomez and wife Anna of San Antonio, and Adrian Gomez of San Antonio; sisters and brothers Mariano E. Garcia Jr. and wife Susie of Houston, Adela Ramirez and husband Ramiro, Carmen Ramirez and husband Bob, Ramiro E. Garcia and wife Sylvia, Ysidro E. Garcia, Mary Rose Ximenez and husband Benny, and Susie Castro and husband Roland, all of Floresville, Dimas E. Garcia and wife Maria of Katy, and Thelma Celestino and husband Richard of Floresville; grandchildren Carys, Luke, Matthew, Justin, Avery, Dinora, Naydine, Jon Paul Jr., and Gianna; Gloria Pena Garcia, mother of Anthony and Christopher Brian; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. in the Oak Hills Community Church in Floresville with the Rev. Joel Odom to officiate.
