Marguerite Lily Savoy Hunter, 91, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Houston, Texas. She was born on Nov. 1, 1922, in Church Point, Acadia Parish, La., to Ella Breaux and Howard Emmett Savoy.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband; and her younger son, Everett D. Hunter Jr.

She is survived by her children, Constance Juvan-Savoy, Anne Brent and husband John, Isla Hunter, and Charles Hunter; her granddaughter, Melissa Juvan and husband Kyle Reynerson; and her great-grandson, Raiden Reynerson, all of Houston. They see each other often and visited Marguerite frequently.

Visitation was held Monday, March 31, at 1 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel officiated by the Rev. Ouseph Kuriakose.

Interment followed in the Griffin Cemetery in Gonzales County.

Serving as pallbearers were Larry Hunter, James Hunter, Joshua Hunter, Buck Hicks, Wayne Hartman, and Monty Bill Hartman.

Family and friends will gather at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Houston to honor Marguerite with a Mass and rosary at a time to be announced at a later date.
