The “Randy Rogers Band” will perform during the Poteet Strawberry Festival, Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m. at the VFW Pavilion, Bud Light Stage.

The band has built its audience by combining forces: It’s a dynamic live act centered around songs that fit the rowdy, party vibe of the concert circuit, but its songs also say something.

The hard-hitting, no-frills band combines traditional country sound with a rollicking swagger influenced by rugged sounds from such diverse sources as Waylon Jennings and “Stone Temple Pilots.”

The band has always enjoyed critical acclaim, thanks to its signature blend of outlaw edge coupled with guy-next-door charm.

Rogers has performed with Willie Nelson, Gary Allan, Dierks Bentley, and Miranda Lambert, and opened for “The Eagles” at Indio’s Stagecoach Festival. The “Randy Rogers Band” has performed on the “Late Show” with David Letterman and the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.

“One More Sad Song” became the group’s first Billboard Top 40 hit after being released in late 2012.

Watch for the band’s live album/DVD, “Homemade Tamales,” April 15. It was recorded at John T. Floore’s Country Store last October.

Following the “Randy Rogers Band” will be “Erick y Su Grupo Massore” at 7 p.m.

Also performing during the festival are David Lee Garza y “Los Musicales” and Granger Smith on Friday, April 4.

Saturday night’s performers include Pat Green at 5 p.m.; “Intocable” at 11 p.m.; and Jason Boland & “The Stragglers” at 11:30 p.m.

The Poteet Strawberry Festival is located at 9199 S.H. 16 in Poteet. The fun-for-the-whole-family festival offers a carnival, a parade, and much more.
