CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Josie Pena went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014. She was born Dec. 29, 1944, to Tom and Guadalupe (Guajardo) Torres.

She was preceded in death by her baby son, Edward Pena; baby daughter Lisa Marie Pena; her parents; brother Jake Torres; and sister JoAnn Torres.

Josie is survived by her husband, Edward R. Pena of Nixon; daughters Brenda O’Neal and husband Wayne and Linda Munoz and husband Benny; sons Edward Douglas Pena and wife Tina and Gabriel Pena and wife Cindy, all of Nixon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 3, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.

A funeral service was held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel, officiated by the Rev. Lamar Amaya.

Interment followed in the Burriola Cemetery in Smiley.
