Rosalba Puente Cortina
Rosalba Puente Cortina, a resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in her residence in Floresville at the age of 63 years, 1 month, and 7 days. Rosalba was born Feb. 26, 1951, in El Carmen, Guemez, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the daughter of Jesus and Enriqueta Garza Puente.
Rosalba married Jose Camilo Cortina 38 years ago, and moved to Floresville 22 years ago. She worked as a cook with Regency Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floresville. Rosalba was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Puente; her infant twin sister; and her grandson, Noah Calderon.
Rosalba is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Jose Camilo Cortina of Floresville; her mother, Enriqueta Garza of Mexico; her children, Jesus C. Cortina of Floresville, Erik A. Cortina and wife Melissa of San Antonio, Fabiola Calderon and husband Margarito of Floresville, and Silvia Madrid and husband Diego of Laredo; her grandchildren, Abraham Cortina, Amberleeana Cortina, Ashlynn Eva Calderon, Margarito Calderon IV, Emalynn E. Calderon, Taila Madrid, Diego Madrid Jr., and Dominique Madrid; and her siblings, Reynaldo Puente, Yolanda Puente, Blanca Sanchez, Micaela Pequeño, Enriqueta Puente, and Jesus Puente Jr.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Frank Kurzaj. Cremation followed.
