Offer condolences


Benny M. Ximenez Sr. passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in Floresville at the age of 60 years and 28 days. He was born in Floresville, Texas, on March 3, 1954, to Alfredo and Guadalupe Murillo Ximenez,

Benny was a lifelong resident of Floresville, where he attended Floresville High School and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He grew up his entire life around ranching and farming. He was a lifelong rancher and farmer raising cattle, growing peanuts, and coastal hay. He enjoyed his hay farm in Floresville and hanging out with family and friends. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandkids at the farm. The Ximenez family would like to thank all family and friends for their love and support and generous donations.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Mary Lou X. Couples.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Ximenez of Floresville; sons Benny Ximenez Jr. and wife Catherine and Michael Ximenez and wife Kimberly, all of Floresville; grandchildren Dakota Manges, Benny Ximenez III, Dylan Ximenez, Evan Ximenez, and Emma Rose Ximenez; brothers and sisters Connie Morales and husband Andy, Johnny Ximenez and wife Julia, and Alice Alfaro, all of Floresville, Virginia Toth and husband Jim of San Antonio, Lucy Garza, Guadalupe “Wally” Ximenez, and Joe Ximenez, all of Floresville, Terry Ximenez of Los Angeles, Calif., and Charlotte Nelson and husband Bill of Floresville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held Friday, April 4, from 5-7 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Phil Henning.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Frank Kurzaj.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were brother Guadalupe “Wally” Ximenez, grandsons Dakota Manges and Benny Ximenez III, brothers-in-law Andy Morales and Roland Castro, cousins Alfredo Ximenez and Joe “Billa” Ximenez, and friend Steve Guerrero Jr.
