Offer condolences


Donata Benedicta Moczygemba Banduch, 82, of Karnes City passed away Monday, March 31, 2014. She was born on April 4, 1931, in Hobson, Texas, to R.J. and Alvina Sprencel Moczygemba.

She married her husband of 50 years, Albert Banduch, on June 15, 1954. Donata was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church and the Altar Society for many years. She loved gardening and doing needlepoint and embroidery.

Donata was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; her brother, Flavian Moczygemba; and her sisters, Matilda Kruciak and Catherine Moczygemba.

She is survived by her son, Leslie Banduch and wife Barbara of Libertyville, Ill.; her daughters, Marilyn Conger and husband Charlie of Missouri City, Debbie Gerik and husband Ken of Whitney, and Carolyn Ericson and husband Todd of Sugar Land; her brother, Valerian Moczygemba; her sister, Lucy Swierc; 11 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 4, from 5-8 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City.

A rosary was held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.

Interment followed in the Panna Maria Cemetery in Panna Maria.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
