Learn about archeology in Austin
The 79th annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology will be held Wednesday through Sunday, April 23-27, in the Austin Convention Center and Hilton Hotel in Austin.
Many events are designed specifically with students in mind, including a speed mentoring session and résumé review, and a special student day on Saturday, which will introduce high school and undergraduate students to archeology, including an archeology career panel and hands-on archeology activities.
Off-site excursions will include a trip to the nearby Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Texas Tejano Tour, and a tour of the Gault site. Workshops and symposiums cover everything from prehistoric Texas to how to get a job in archeology.
