Deadline nears for Farm Bureau scholarships

More than $110,000 in financial aid is available for aspiring college students through scholarships offered through the Texas Farm Bureau.

At the local level, once again Wilson County Farm Bureau will offer six $500 scholarship awards. Applicant’s parents or legal guardian must be current members of Wilson County Farm Bureau. Applicant must also be a confirmed senior in high school in order to qualify for the scholarship awards. Applicant must attend a two- or four-year accredited college or vocational/technical school. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 14. Information and applications are available online and can be obtained at the Wilson County Farm Bureau office in Floresville and La Vernia or by calling 830-393-2481.

College level

The Texas Farm Bureau board of directors approved the establishment of the Texas Farm Bureau S.M. True Jr. Agricultural Scholar Award. This scholarship is for a student of a Farm Bureau member family who is majoring in an agriculture program and has completed his or her sophomore year in college. The award is a maximum of $20,000. The deadline for this scholarship is Wednesday, April 30.
