Poet’s Corner debuts: ‘Softball’
By Brooke Alexander
Softball it’s more than a sport, more like a passion.
Red dirt and bruises are in fashion.
As we hit the ball as far as the moon.
I run and run till I can’t move.
As I move to the ball every time they hit it.
We always get them out even though I didn’t get it.
And when the game is over.
This girl can stand tall.
For you’ve helped her prepare to give it her all.
Brooke Alexander is an eighth-grader at Heritage Middle School in the East Central Independent School District. When not playing softball, Brooke exhibits swine for the East Central FFA. The 14-year-old loves music and fashion and plays volleyball and basketball, but softball is her passion.
