Floresville Independent School District Superintendent Sherri Bays issued the following statement April 8 related to a bomb threat targeting Floresville High School:

“Today, a threat was found written on the wall in the boys restroom at Floresville High School referencing April 14th. FISD Police and Texas Rangers were immediately contacted. After viewing video footage, FHS administration was able to identify a suspect and obtain a confession. We were able to resolve this case because two students reported it to FHS Administration in a timely manner. With the resolution of this situation, we do not believe that student and staff safety is in jeopardy, but it will continue to be a priority. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us.”

Bays also said April 9 that there was no associated device and she praised the high school’s administration for its quick work in investigating the matter.

“As of 11:30 (a.m.) today we have had only six parents, out of the 1,038 contacted, follow up with FHS on the message they received last night,” she said. “We will continue to take all threats seriously and investigate. The safety of our students and staff remains a top priority with Floresville ISD.”

You know, it takes about as much energy to get in a car and drive down to a school board meeting than to sit here and complain or to run off to KSAT with the latest gossip. All of these people who have something to say about ... More ›

I think a photo of this threat and any other information should be seen by all who attend FISD. Let the parents make decision if their child attends on the 14th - Parents decision - not FISD.
