Offer condolences


Gabe B. Newman was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the age of 81. He was born March 8, 1933, to Clint and Ora Newman.

Gabe retired from Gary Pools after 46 years. He raised and raced more than 200 greyhounds. He also raised and raced many horses, winning many races.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Newman; and his parents.

Gabe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eloise Newman; children Gabriel Greg Newman and wife Mary, Gale and husband Randy, and Gae Len and husband John; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 1 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Floresville, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Marcelina Cemetery in Wilson County.
