Monica Rose “Minnie” Wiatrek Snoga was called home by her Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 10:35 p.m. in the Floresville Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Floresville, at the age of 93 years, 7 months, and 10 days. Minnie was born Aug. 30, 1920, to Edward and Julia (Haiduk) Wiatrek in Falls City, Texas.

She married Henry Snoga, moved to Poth, became a homemaker, and retired from Colonial Bakery. She was a devoted member of the Poth Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, always ready to help with any church activities, and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society. Minnie was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all she met and was always there to help any way she could. Mom, we will all miss you and tell Daddy “hello” when you join him in heaven, said the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Henry Snoga; infant daughter Caroline; two sisters; and five brothers.

Minnie is survived by her daughter, Mary Snoga Jenkins; grandchildren Donna Jenkins Sekula and husband Jerry, Jeffery Jenkins and wife Evelyn, and Todd Jenkins; great-grandchildren Jordan and Tyler Sekula and Amber Jenkins; sisters Helen Pawlik, Agnes Laskowski, and Magdalen Korus; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a rosary in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the church officiated by the Rev. Grzegorz Szewczyk.

Entombment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Mausoleum in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Todd Jenkins, Jeffery Jenkins, Jerry Sekula, Jordan Sekula, Tyler Sekula, and Raymond Waclawczyk.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Floresville Residence and Rehabilitation Center, 1811 Sixth St., Floresville, TX 78114; or Odyssey Hospice, 1222 Main St., San Antonio, TX 78212; in Minnie’s memory for their wonderful care and support.
