Offer condolences


Jay Randall Faktor, a lifelong resident of Poth, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 7:35 a.m., in the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 49 years, 8 months, and 1 day. Jay was born Aug. 2, 1964, in Floresville, the son of Albert Charles and Betty Jane Polasek Faktor.

Jay graduated from Poth High School and was a lifelong member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth. He served as a member and was current president of the Sandhill Pork Producers. Jay was known for his service to others. He especially enjoyed helping youth with their livestock show projects. He spent many happy years raising his hogs and goats and working at Farmers Gin with his parents.

Jay is survived by his parents, Albert and Betty Faktor of Poth; his sister, Terrie Dunn and husband Greg of Poth; his niece and nephews, Dacia Dunn, Michael Dunn, Brian Dunn, Cole Dunn and wife Alison, Brock Dunn and fiancée Tara Moy, and Seth Dunn; and his great-nephew and great-nieces, Azriel, Payton, and Parker.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Church in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 2 p.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Grzegorz Szewczyk.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Nolan Simmons, Scott Gleeson, Jimmie Kolodziej, Kenneth Jarzombek, Howard Labus, Gary Almquist, and Mario Guevara.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Robert Moy Jr., Jeff Glover, Calvin Albert, Jim Dowd, Richard Fennema, Delbert Keller, and Steven Bednarz.
