Fiber To The Home Internet service from GVEC.net recently went “live” in and around eight additional subdivisions in the La Vernia area, marking the completion of the second phase of the three-phase project. Residents in and around Wood Valley Acres, Presidents Park, Tierra Robles, Country Hills, Country Oaks, Wildwood, Spring Valley, and Moss Woods now have access to the fastest broadband speeds in the industry -- up to 1 Gbps.
It’s been less than a year since GVEC.net, a subsidiary of the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC), announced plans to install 90 miles of fiber optic cable with the potential to provide Fiber Internet service for approximately 3,000 homes in the La Vernia community. The first phase was completed last November, making Fiber To The Home service available in and around the Vintage Oaks, Copper Creek, The Reserve, Legacy Ranch, and Rosewood areas.
The next and final phase will extend Fiber Internet service in and around the Country Acres, Shadow Woods, Miller’s Crossing, and Miller’s Cove areas, and is expected to go “live” in early May.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Fiber To The Home technology, availability, and pricing can call GVEC.net at 800.699.4832 or visit www.gvec.net .
