Stockdale Independent School District’s (ISD) track project is 99 percent complete. We invite the public to enjoy walking on the new track surface, but we do ask that a few rules are followed to ensure that our new track will have a long life!

These rules are also posted at the entrance that can be used where the old ticket booth was located behind the junior high field house and gym.

The following are prohibited: chewing gum, sunflower seeds, tobacco, steel cleats, long track spikes, bicycles, discus throwing, golfing, shot put, skateboards, motorized vehicles, unauthorized vehicles, and strollers.

Please adhere to these few rules of the track, and please enjoy it. It is recommended that the outside lanes be used for walking.

Another good rule of thumb is to use different lanes when walking. It is very easy to keep track of what lane you have walked by changing lanes to keep count.

Also, congratulations to the teachers of the month for March: Tanya Eller, elementary school; Karen Coston, junior high school; and Ashley Moczygemba, high school.

Paul Darilek is the superintendent of the Stockdale Independent School District.
