Are you ready to relay, Wilson County? To date, 45 teams are signed up and are ready to walk till they drop, have fun, and stay up late during this year’s Relay For Life of Wilson County, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, in the Jack Lane Stadium in Poth.

Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings community members together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against this life-altering disease.

A variety of fun events will be held, beginning with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m., followed by a survivor lap, caregiver lap, and team lap. The Mardi Gras-themed event, “Mask Out Cancer,” will then take off with a variety of team fund-raisers, concessions, a DJ, other fun laps such as crazy sock lap and pajama lap, and much more. As the sun sets, luminaria bags will surround the field lit by a single candle for a luminaria ceremony in memory of loved ones who have passed and to honor those who are fighting the disease.

It’s not too late to sign up or donate and join the fight against cancer. Visit
