STOCKDALE -- After a good showing at the district meet last week, Stockdale High School is sending a number of athletes to the area qualifier in Floresville.

On the girls side, the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams have both advanced. Kristen Moore, Jacqueline Kay, Caitlyn Dodson, Katelyn Shaver, and Lauren Donsbach make up both teams. Donsbach also qualified individually in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles events, where she won the district title in each. Moore also qualified for the area meet with her efforts in the long jump.

On the boys side, Deryk Mayberry, Trey Jordan, Matt Valadez, Jeremiah Bellows, and Tony Renfro punched their ticket in the 4x100-meter relay, while Valadez, Juaquin Munoz, Jordan, Bellows, and Renfro got it done in the 4x200-meter relay.

Valadez qualified individually in the 100-meter dash, and Josh Carroll earned a trip in the shot put. Zach Pfeil won the district title in the discus, with teammate Gage Haley finishing right behind him to also qualify for the area meet.
