1936-2014

Winnie Ruth Lansford, 78, of Nixon, Texas, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, in Gonzales. She was born March 7, 1936, in Smiley to Paul Augustus and Florence (Lee) Murray.

Winnie Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Dena Lansford. She is survived by her husband, Dee Lansford; three sons, Wendell Lansford and wife Kay, Kenny Lansford, and Denny Lansford; two grandsons, Travis Lansford and Dustin Lansford; her brother, Collie Murray and wife Nancy; and other loving family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, April 21, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. A funeral service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Jack Shufford.

Interment followed in the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
