My name is Harold Schott and I am seeking the office of La Vernia city councilman.

I have dedicated 47 years of my life to public service. I retired from the San Antonio Police Department after 33 years of service and served the citizens of La Vernia for 14 years on the city council. I was mayor from 2008 to 2012.

I recognized the opportunities available to La Vernia to improve services and the vision to provide new growth to our citizens. Some of these services include the H-E-B store and Whataburger, along with new franchise agreements with FELPS and GVEC, and a retirement plan for city employees. I also negotiated a five-year franchise agreement with IESI, our solid-waste provider, with a monthly discount for senior citizens.

I realize there are still many opportunities and improvements on the horizon for our city. The work never will be finished and dealing with virtually every facet of city government on a daily basis during my four-year tenure as mayor provides me with the knowledge and experience to continue working for you.

I will appreciate your consideration and vote.
