My name is Glenn L. McCarty and I retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrical supervisor after 41 years.

I served as president of the American Railway and Airway Supervisors Association, was on the Amtrak Board of Directors, past alderman of the China Grove City Council, and president and assistant chief of the China Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years.

I have been married to Charlene McCarty for 51 years and have one married daughter, Audra Mead, and one granddaughter.

I have served on numerous committees for school and church functions and fundraisers. My favorite pastime is restoring antique cars, playing baseball,

bowling, hunting, and fishing.

I am running for City Council due to the incompetence of the council members, their hostile attitudes, administrative errors, and their “lack of knowledge” on how to conduct a meeting and operate the city.

I will listen to the “Will of the People” and not favor one neighborhood over the other. I will reinstate the Police Force that the council terminated and enforce all city ordinances. Street maintenance will get high priority and I will conduct myself with integrity and pride as I represent our city.
