My name is Polo Maldonado and I am asking for your vote May 10 for City Council Place 3. My high school sweetheart and I have been married for 50 years and have three grown children and five grandchildren.

I retired as a correctional officer from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Dolph Briscoe Unit, Dilley, and also served on the Dilley ISD board for eight years. As a member and deacon of the local Baptist Church, I served my community through the many outreach programs the church sponsored.

Having grown up in the small town of Dilley, when my wife and I decided to relocate, we were attracted to Elmendorf. Elmendorf is a small town with a great future.

I am running for the city council position because my work experience, as well as my experience with the Dilley school board, has equipped me with the skills necessary for planning for the future. My goal is to continue with strides accomplished in the past with an eye toward refining where needed to forge ahead.

Vote Polo Maldonado -- a leader who listens!
