My name is Michael J. Gonzales; I have been a resident of Elmendorf for 13 years and have family that has resided here since 1951. I am employed by Bexar County Infrastructure Services Division for 16 years and the Bexar County Fire/Safety Division for the last 3-1/2 years.

I have minimal political background, but what I do have is a passion to do the best I can to make the city and community of Elmendorf the best place possible to live.

How will I do this? By bringing the benefits of this office back to the residents of Elmendorf. This office will review and address water-rate issues, ensure the maintenance of bar ditches and roadside maintenance, animal-control issues, and the review of all current city ordinances.

If elected, this office will have an open ear to the concerns of our citizens. Together, we can make Elmendorf the home and community that we all deserve.

In closing, I would like to add a quote from the former mayor of San Antonio, Henry Cisneros: “Americans are a can-do people, an enthusiastic people, a problem-solving people. And when given a direction and given a plan, they’ll sign on.”
