April 23, 2014

I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for Floresville City Council, Place 1. I am a 45-year resident of Floresville, where I have raised my five children. I retired from the Floresville ISD after 36 years of teaching the youth of the community.

I am an active member of our community, where I have been involved in numerous school and community organizations. These include the Floresville Peanut Festival Association, member of the Lions Club and Delta Kappa Gamma, teacher with Drama Kids International, member of the Wilson County Retired School Personnel, UIL One-Act Play judge, and member of the Floresville Musical Club. I am an active member of the Floresville First Baptist Church.

As your council member, I plan to work to restore respect, financial accountability, and transparency to the government of the city of Floresville. I will work to assist the council in keeping on track with plans already in place for business growth, upgrading the sewer plant, and to continue fixing the streets and infrastructure. I will work with the FEDC and Planning and Zoning Committee to attract future business and make smoother transitions for development.

Please vote for me May 10.

This musical chairs merry-go-round of incompetents, or worse, must be broken. If you care at all about the City of Floresville please support and vote for this lady.

Bonna, thank you for all that you have done for our community. Unlike your opponent, she left Floresville for many years and now she wants to contribute. Contribute what? Best of luck to you. You have my vote.
