The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) installed new officers April 6 during the closing session of the 137th annual Cattle Raisers Convention in San Antonio.

Pete Bonds of Saginaw was elected president, Richard Thorpe of Winters, first vice president; Robert McKnight of Fort Davis, second vice president; and Eldon White of Fort Worth, executive vice president.

Bonds operates the Bonds Ranch headquartered in Saginaw. He became a Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association director in 1992 and was elected second vice president in 2011.

Thorpe is the owner and operator of Mesa T Ranch, headquartered in Winters. Thorpe became a director in March 2006.

The newest officer is Robert McKnight. McKnight raises registered and commercial Herefords and crossbred cattle on ranch land in Jeff Davis, Brewster, Presidio, Reeves, and Crane counties. He became a director in 1989.

New directors were also elected at the convention. New directors are Kevin Busher of Winters, Brooks Hodges of Guthrie, James Palmer of Roaring Springs, and Claudia Wright of Richmond.

New executive committee members include Crawford Edwards of Fort Worth, Jay Evans of Austin, Coleman Locke of Hungerford, and James L. Donnell of Fowlerton.

Barrett Clark of Breckenridge, Steve Lewis of San Antonio, Evalyn Moore of Richmond, Les Nunn of Pauls Valley, Okla., and Tom Roach III of Amarillo were elected as honorary directors.

All members with honorary titles serve as ex officio members of the board.
