Offer condolences


Marjorie J. Shadrock, 78, of Adkins, Texas, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, in her home with her family by her side. She was born March 16, 1936, to Theodore Roosevelt and Margaret Elizabeth (Hennessy) Blevins in San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Florence Blevins; and stepbrother Patrick Staker.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of more than 56 years, Herbert Peter Shadrock of Adkins; sons Michael A. Shadrock of San Antonio, David A. Shadrock and wife Marisa of Edinburg, Stephen E. Shadrock of Boerne, and Herbert P. Shadrock Jr. of Schertz; daughter-in-law Maria D. “Ginger” Medina of Massachusetts; grandchildren Marcus, Emily, Matthew, Christopher, Cecilia, and Nicholas Shadrock, and Christina Curry and husband David; great-grandson Brantley Curry; brother John Blevins and wife Judy; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 28, from 5-8:30 p.m. with a rosary vigil recited at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, officiated by the Rev. Bill Zadora.

Entombment followed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery mausoleum in St. Hedwig.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie’s name by way of Mass intentions.
