Offer condolences


Irene Kotara Wollney, 91, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014. She was born on June 12, 1922, in Falls City to Jerome and Annie (Gabrysch) Kotara.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Regency Manor, New Century Hospice, and the Connally Memorial Medical Center.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard R. Wollney; and one brother.

She is survived by her sons, Norbert Wollney and wife Betty and Richard A. Wollney and wife Darlene; daughters Dorothy Bonewitz and husband William and Carolyn Wollney; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Valissa Chiapetta.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29, from 10-11 a.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.

A rosary and funeral Mass were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Bill Zadora.

Interment followed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig.

Memorial contributions may be made by way of Masses.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill Bonewitz Jr., James Bonewitz, Norbert Wollney Jr., Robert Wollney, Rick Wollney Jr., and Lucas Wollney.
