The 81st & 218th Judicial District Community Supervision and Corrections Department (Adult Probation) is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). This is a full-time position that will require travel to the following counties: Atascosa, Frio, Karnes, LaSalle, and Wilson. Requirements: Must be licensed as a chemical dependency counselor through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS
NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call”
crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions,
assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary
treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in
psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends
and holidays vary. If selected, you must
attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites
within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation

The Wilson County Soil and Water Conservation District No. 301, headquartered in Floresville, will be honored Wednesday, May 7, for outstanding contributions to the Texas soil and water conservation program at a Conservation Awards Banquet for Area III. The banquet will be held at 6 p.m. in the Refugio Community Center in Refugio.
Awards will be presented to area youth winners of the poster and essay contests. Brielle Weiss and Hailey Janysek from La Vernia Junior High School will be presented their awards for second and third places in the essay contest for students under the age of 13.
