Thomas James O’Toole Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 28 days. He was born on May 6, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Thomas James and Nina Spatafore O’Toole.

Thomas was a former resident of Wilson County and Bad Axe, Mich., and a San Antonio resident for five years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Elgin, Ill.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Kyle Koch.

He is survived by his wife, Monica O’Toole of Katy; children Lisa Michalak and husband Jay of Rockford, Ill., Mary Martens and husband John of San Antonio, Dawn Boyer and husband Jim of Las Vegas, Mary Anne McCreedy of Katy, Mark O’Toole and wife Ana of San Antonio, Michael O’Toole of Marinette, Wis., Jeffrey O’Toole and wife Stacy Heik of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Thomas James O’Toole III and wife Erica of Las Vegas; sister Maureen O’Toole of Virginia; nephews Ritchie, Howie, and Tommy; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 5 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark O’Toole, Michael O’Toole, T.J. O’Toole, Richard Lyle, Howard Lyle, and Thomas Lyle.
