ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Philip Griego Juarez passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 78 years and 7 months. He was born on Sept. 29, 1935, in Wilson County to Alfred “Fred” and Maria Griego Juarez.

He was a former resident of Wilson County and a resident of San Antonio for 35 years.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents and brother Fermin Juarez.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Juarez and Peggy Juarez, both of Seguin, Philip Juarez of Stockdale, and Paul Juarez and wife Rachel of Fort Worth; sister Linda J. Hinojosa and Esteban Espino of Floresville; brothers Francisco G. Juarez and wife Carsaline of North Carolina, and Felix G. Juarez and wife Mary of Floresville; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 4, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, officiated by Deacon Ralph Guerra.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with the Rev. Grzegorz Szewczyk officiating.

Serving as pallbearers were Julio Alfredo Salazar, Benjamin Salazar III, Manuel Cuca, Nelson Cuca, Paul Juarez, and Esteban Espino.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
